Meet Doni Nicole

An Artist with a Story to Tell

Doni Nicole – Artist | Entrepreneur | Mother

Doni Nicole is a rising soul and R&B artist from New York, turning heads with a heartfelt voice and a sound that feels both fresh and timeless. Her music blends soul, gospel roots, and modern R&B, carrying an authenticity that connects across generations. Known for her high-energy live shows under The Doni Nicole Experience (The DNE), she’s been featured in Grind Weekly as a standout talent carving her own lane in today’s scene.

Her path into music wasn’t straight. It was about finding her truth. Doni grew up surrounded by rhythm and storytelling, learning early on that music wasn’t just sound, it was connection. Over the years, those early influences shaped her into an artist defined by vulnerability and power. She’s not afraid to share her struggles and her wins, weaving them into songs that are personal yet easy to relate to.

What makes Doni stand out is her ability to turn every performance into an experience. From intimate showcases in New York to national features and collaborations, she proves her artistry isn’t just about music—it’s about energy, presence, and connection. Her voice commands attention, but it’s her spirit on stage that keeps people coming back.

Recording artist Doni Nicole charted on Billboard in early 2026 with her single “New Joy 2,” reaching #23. She has released several singles, including New Joy Project and “Love Affair,” which hit #1 on iTunes and Amazon. Her music has been played and remixed on major stations such as iHeartRadio, WBLS, Power 105.1FM, and WPAT. She is currently preparing her debut album, set for release in Spring 2026.

Doni Nicole has collaborated with many acclaimed artists throughout her career. She made her acting debut in 2012 in Mama, I Want to Sing! alongside Ciara, Lynn Whitfield, and Patti LaBelle.

She has provided background vocals for legendary performers including Patti LaBelle, Melonie Daniels (known for working with Mariah Carey), Judith Hill, Chinah Black, Cheryl Pepsii Riley, Chaz Shepherd, Kimberly Davis of Chic, Regina Belle, and the late Cissy Houston.

She’s also an entrepreneur, running Doni Nicole Hair & Makeup, where she’s styled artists such as Melonie Daniels, longtime background singer for Mariah Carey; Latonya Blige-DaCosta, sister of Mary J. Blige; and Burna Boy — including styling him the night he made history as the first Nigerian artist to headline a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden in New York City with his “One Night in Space” concert.

Today, Doni is focused on expanding The Doni Nicole Experience with new music and live shows. With fresh projects on the horizon, she’s ready to share her sound with a wider audience.
